About this project

A Crazy 5 Days & The Whole 9 Yards

Inspiration has come in all forms to get me here. Amazing, quirky, and awe inducing Kickstarter project mixed with the graffiti and art culture in Buenos Aires, Argentina really forced me to utter a phrase that is so beloved here: “Como no?!” – Translation: “Why not?!”

I want to have one last BIG art project (27 feet worth) before leaving this aesthetic-centric, painted-up city. It’s simple:

9 yards + 5 Days + Paint/Ink + me + YOU = many pieces of amazing

Goals:

My biggest goal, really, is to share this experience and my artwork with you – all of you – people who know and love me and others who are discovering my work for the first time.  Connecting with people who will join me on this adventure (and others yet to hatch) will be the best and most precious thing to come out of this project.

I want to see what happens when I’m forced beyond my current stock of images and shapes, when I’ve promised to incorporate your concepts into my work, when I’ve only 5 days to materialize 9 yards (27 feet) of color, eye-tricks, characters, whimsy, and depth.

I’ll create a book that documents it all – “The Whole 9 Yards ~ 5 Crazy Days with a Seuss-Escher Lovechild” comprised of photos taken during the event and epic wrap party.

What’s the Money Going Toward?

Every backer who contributes over $5 will get something tangible. So, that means a lot of supplies, ordering, time, shipping, and production. Some of the rewards money will go toward the following:

Skye Lucking is an artist, writer, traveler, tech geek, philanthropist, and entrepreneur.  Born to the owners of a skydiving company near Norman, Oklahoma, Skye has always had a tendency for risk and adventure.

She sharpened her interest in business, technology, internet, e-commerce, and social media while attaining her degree in Management Information Systems at Price Business College at the University of Oklahoma. Shortly after graduating, she spent a few years working in an IT department, followed by two years of service in the US Peace Corps, and then two years working as a Cognos Administrator in Dallas, Texas.
